Cost: $65/player $85 after 12/1 (jersey not necessary/T-shirt will be provided). The program will have basketballs at the gym (no need to bring your own). We would like to keep snow and water off the gym floor. For safety purposes, please have kids an adults change into their tennis shoes when they get to the school. You will be notified by January 2 on what session your child will be attending. Location at the Haslett Middle School (1535 Franklin Street) back gym. The program meets on Saturdays from January 6 - February 3 (5 weeks). Each week a new skill will be introduced with the emphasis of fun. This clinic format program will be taught by Mike Devlin, Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Specialist and middle/high school students. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter of player safety.4th-6th Grade Basketball Registration for the 2023-24 Winter Season: Any bats in or around the dugout will be subject to inspection by the umpires. Any illegal bat brought to the field will subject the owner to ejection and possibly a one or two-year suspension. All Bats Subject to Inspection: In order to help our umpires better do their job, we are also implementing a rule change it will now be illegal to bring a non-approved or altered bat to the field. Our umpires in this situation are to be commended for being alert and observant in the interest of keeping all our participants safe. 
Hot Bats are Prohibited: USA Softball's rules prohibit hot bats because it can allow people to hit the ball farther, as well as make the ball pass through the infield at speeds that create a risk of serious injury to pitchers and infielders.This is done is in the interest of player safety. Only USA Softball-approved bats are allowed in BRPD league play. Adult Softball Suspensions: Burlington Recreation & Parks has recently suspended two participants in the adult softball program for one and two years, respectively, for violations of equipment rules.
